OUR COMMITMENT TO QUALITY STANDARDS – MOLECULARLY DISTILLED EMU OIL
MISSION STATEMENT
Longview Farms is absolutely committed to producing and selling the purest, safest and highest quality Emu oil available worldwide, using today’s latest technology.
Further, we are committed to finished product packaging, handling and shipping procedures that maximize sanitary conditions and achieve the highest possible level of Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP).
Production Facilities
Longview Farms has, since 1993, been a pioneer in designing and implementing the conventional rendering and refining equipment that is today in use by virtually all processors of Emu oil within the United States.
More importantly, starting in 2003, in addition to our all natural rendering and refining processes, we final design process our Emu oil by Molecular Distillation. This final process maintains all beneficial properties (fatty acid profiles) in tact and removes all impurities and contaminants such as heavy metals, herbicides, pesticides, arsenic and other cancer-causing toxins. This final process offers the purchaser/consumer the absolute cleanest, purest, safest and highest quality Emu oil available to today’s technology. And, our Design Process™ gives bulk purchasers the ability to choose the exact levels of their desired refining needs, such as moisture, free fatty acid level and peroxide values. This fully refined Emu oil is our brand, Longview Farms / HMD (Headland Molecular Distilled).
Transcending the importance of our ability to custom refine the best Emu oil in the world is the safety aspect of the manner in which we achieve this task. All of our Emu oil is rendered and refined at a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) inspected production facility and all of our finished goods are packaged at a Food & Drug Administration (FDA) inspected facility within the strict confines of compliance with GMP and ISO approved procedures.
In 2001 we became a member of the American Oil Chemists Society (AOCS). For your safety and value assurance, production Lots of our Molecularly Distilled Emu oil are individually sampled and sent to a totally independent and accredited AOCS laboratory for a complete Certificate of Analysis (COA). Copies of COA’s are available to all bulk purchasers of our Emu oil upon request.
Our Recognized Types of Emu Oil
We recognize types of Emu oil based upon the applications of use. The recognizable types and respective uses are as follows:
REGULAR EMU OIL: All of our fully refined and Molecular Distilled Emu oil produced meets the rigid standards of the AOCS and all are considered to be “food grade”. The standard bearer of the company is our “regular” Emu oil. This oil is purchased by about 70% of our customer base and is used for nutritional supplements and just about every conceivable general-purpose situation.
CLEAR EMU OIL: Through the process of mechanical fractionation, we can remove certain heavier mono-saturated fatty acids from our “regular” Emu oil and thereby create a new type of Emu oil, which we call “clear” oil. This oil stays clear at lower than normal temperatures. Our customers use this “clear” Emu oil for high-end cosmetics, such as anti-aging products or anywhere that rapid or more complete penetration of the dermis is required. This form of Emu oil is also sometimes referred to as “triple refined”.
HEAVY OIL or EMU PASTE: As a result of fractionating “regular” Emu oil and creating “clear” Emu oil, the remaining fractionation is a “heavy oil” or “paste” consisting of heavier fatty acids. Our bulk customers typically use the heavy Emu oil in formulating ulcer (bed sore) products, burn creams, or salves where a slower penetration of the dermis is desired. This heavy Emu oil is also a favorite of Soap manufacturers who add Emu oil after saphonification.
To further our commitment to providing you with quality Emu oil, an independent private study was conducted comparing a variety of Emu oils on the market today. Click here to review these Study results.
